Donor The Republic of Tea Project Cost LKR 15,077,770.00 Duration June 2017 - June 2018 Implementing Partner PALM Foundation Main Objective To improve the nutritional health of families living on tea estates in Sri Lanka. Project Description Project Aim The overall aim of the project is to improve the nutritional health of 11,200 women, men and children on tea estates in the Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts of Sri Lanka. Project Location The selected estates are Pedro, Dessford, Fettresso, Kotiyagagalla, Dabatanne and Indalgashinna in the Nuwara Eliya and Badulla Districts. Targeted Beneficiaries The project aims to reach a total of 11,200 beneficiaries. This includes 2,800 primary beneficiaries and 8,400 secondary beneficiaries including dependents (non-workers). Expected Results Result 01 Increase availability of affordable, healthy and nutritious food. Result 02 Improve knowledge of nutrition through training and sensitization. Result 03 Improve hygiene and sanitation behaviors. Result 04 Enhance capacities in managing household finances.
